Daddy
Nine years ago today I had my braces put on, on a snowy day. Several minutes after calling my Dad, lisping into the phone to come pick me up, he sends in Paul Caputo (who, at 16, was a year older than me and a BOY!) to watch “You and your braces” with me in the orthodontist office while I crawled into my skin and envisioned choking my Dad out. Today I am laughing about it.
